found today when playing with my timing, at idle smoke/oil vapor comes out of my dip stick. if i rev it up it stops, on decel it starts at about 3k on the drop. and continues to vent.

i have a breather for the passenger side VC to go in place of the oil cap. i dislike this kind of breather cause its messy and looks cheesy. i might have to put it back but it still has a greater issue of to much blow by.

if i figure out how to post this short video of it i will.

post to youtube then place the link into the thread using the "video" button. (looks like two frames on a roll of film)

The vac line below your oil fill is what keeps the motor in a negative pressure and helps evacuate that stuff. You need to have a cap on the oil fill, not a open element. It will act like a vac leak. What about you PVC, is that working?

I do agree it's a little excessive. How do your plugs look? Any white smoke out the tailpipes?

it has dumps on it so its hard to tell, no smoke out the exhaust from what i've seen. the oil cap is on in the video, i was just stating i have the V/C push in style breather if need be.

havent looked at the plugs for a while 6 months at least. the vac line below the oil cap is routed out next to the air filter and vents out inside the fender. the powerdyne charge pipe doesnt have provisions for the vac line and i dont want to run in before the blower.

Oh, you got a s/c on it (in your sig, duh). The vid only shows the area of the dipstick, nothing else. But that line off the VC needs to go to the inlet pipe of the s/c. It needs to be in a negative pressure so it can evacuate the crankcase. Also check that the PVC is functional, it should only flow one way, so when you're boosting you're not presurising the crancase through the PVC. That's really what I'd say is happening. Does your dipstick blow out when you drive it hard?

Im in agreement with rich, looks like your pvc system is set up incorrectly. The way you currently have it the pcv should be capped off, leave the breather on passenger side and add another on the drivers side. Or you can revert back to stock and get rid of the breather you currently have on the passenger cover, run a vac line from below oil fill to the air inlet while also hooking up the PCV. At the current moment you have it set up wrong causing excessive crank case pressure inturn blowing your dipstick out. Better correct it before you start blowing seals.

i hate to admit this but its been setup this way for awhile now, year and a half about.

i dont loose the dipstick but it does shoot oil out onto my header making a nice smoke show. it only does it in the top of 4th and 5th when really pushing it, so i can avoid the smoke show in normal driving.

no leaks anywhere so my main seals are ok still. i put a pcv valve from a turbo t bird on it.

its starting to get nicer outside and without a garage im more motivated to work on it. i might have to take my upper intake off tomorrow snap some pics and have one of you school me on how much of a tard i am.
