BOI headlights?

how do you know exactly what brand they sell and which brands the other companies sell? i couldnt find anything on BOI's site as to who makes their headlights.

plus, id just go back to the argument of replica wheels vs authentic wheels, on this subject. who cares if theyre of a more "glorified" manufacturer? if theyre made the same, and even hold up better, then who cares if you paid more for them? its the same thing with all the people that will pay twice as much for an authentic wheel, when the replica looks the same, performs the same, and no one would know the difference if it wasnt for the (removable!) centercaps. i paid $118 shipped for my 4-piece smoked headlights on EBAY, and they work PERFECT, and have NEVER broken a seal, and the inside of the housings are still mint... and you probably wouldnt know where i bought them from, let alone that i saved a lot more money on them.

I know names of the companies that make them because i have been around for a while and i ask questions. I know what blue oval makes because i have bought several sets from them.

pretty sure they are the same man. I'd put my lights side by side with some bought form say BOI and there would not be a single difference. If you ask each company they will all say they are made by Eagle Eyes, and i'm sure they don't make different quality lights for different suppliers. The only difference is people like BOI think they can charge more because they are selling them from a larger company.

I say there's no difference in the lights, and nobody better say well BOI are darker... NOT.

no actually I have seen what boi light look like about a year after bought when the clear coat starts pealing off of them...they arent the best. I am just trying to find a deal on a set.

After my first set took a crap (clear lens peeling and mold growing on the chrome) I'm back to stockers. For the amount of $$ paid it's just not worth it for me to repay every 1 1/2-2 yrs. I'll just repolish my lenses as needed for now.

I know this is kind of an old thread BUT, if I drive my car about 500 miles per year and only on perfect days, will they still look crappy?

I put a set on my car, 4 days later the passenger side headlight had condensation on the inside of it. I thought wow I overpayed for those pieces of crap. The next night I went driving through town, one of my buddies stopped me and said "Dude, your headlight is orange." I looked, the condensation had rusted on the chrome inside the headlight. Yeah, mine suck. That, and I've tried baking them and i can't get them apart. Me= Fail

Don't be so hard on yourself. I had 2 pairs of blue oval industries smoked headlight set and what everyone said happened to me a long time ago. They simply do not come sealed enough out the box. You have to squeeze clear silicone in between the lenses and the housing so they are sealed correctly.

I bought myine from BOI and Jonbeast bought his from BOI. At the A.M. Meet Jon commented on how much darker my lights are than his. His car was 2 cars down from mine. I called Shananagans because my car is white, his is DFG so mine will just look darker.

But mine are quite a bit darker than his. Also we bought them at about the same time 2 years ago.

I have never had a problem with them, but I did seal them up real good with clear RTV before installing them.
