Yea me too and after I thought I had a good set on there. I found that it was rubbing on the edge of the valve covers and had chaffed a hole in the insulation after time. I was amazed how much smoother it ran after and was pissed I had been chasing gremlins for so long that I never checked them.

While these wont give you a huge hp gain, the increased throttle response and acceleration well be well worth it.

Down the line if he goes with a blower, he'll be happy he has a larger tb/plenum & free flowing exhaust.

bare with me, im dumb when it comes to these. so, if i buy a used 1, it wont work?

not persay. they "marry" themselves to a car once you put a tune on it. they have to return that car to stock before it un-marries (unlocks). i don't recommend getting a used one. yes you can get it cheaper but have to trust that person. if your on fence, get the AM SCT one. free tunes for life, plug and play, no worries.

Track times have more to do with the driver then the car. You could break into the 14s if you were good but could be much higher as well.

yea with just the basic upgrades listed you will gain some power for sure but it is still really early to be hopin for 13s imo. I could see the low 14s but 13 is gonna need a little bit more.

Also I might be wrong but it sounds like the driver has probably not been to the track much? I know this feeling as I am not there a whole lot but I remember the first few times I ran it just trying to get the reaction times down took some practice
