There are a couple of cars here with Cobra front bumpers and very bright fog lights. I understand these are Durango lights or other ones.

I would love to have bright fog lights as well, so I can use them as running lights.

Unfortunately I have a GT-bumper, and my fog lights are just... well... let's say it's hard to see if they are on.

Are there any options improving the fog lights of a GT? Replacement lights, DYI-projects, just let me know what my options are.

Pic for reference (yes my fog lights are on here):

What's the purpose of running lights?

Lights I can turn on without turning my headlights on during the day. Most cars have them nowadays and I expect they will be mandatory in the future. I don't want to drive with my headlights on all the time.

I see some Cobra's on this forum with bright fog lights, that is what I am after.

I would say first move, if you've not done it yet, is to wire them so they can be on independently of the headlights. There are two ways to do this that I know of, and looks like AM has them documented here: http://www.americanmuscle.com/independent-foglight-wiring.html

[flashback]Jeez, I think I used a guide from ol' MustangWorld back when I did this...[/flashback]

After that, you can turn them on without headlights like all us kool kidz.

Second I would suggest going with some clear housings, like so: https://lmr.com/item/SDT-15200CDP/1996-98-Mustang-Ultra-Clear-Fog-Lights
(I know you're over yonder, so I'm not sure who ships where, but you get the idea.)

Lastly, I would go for some HIDs. I did a DDM 3000K 35 watt kit and after a small hassle I was very happy with that decision. If you're looking for the brightest output, I would do 4300K. From the accounts of others, 55 watt is overkill and is too much heat for a small housing like that to handle. I don't know this for a fact, but I can say from my experience that the 35 was quite enough for me.

An old thread of mine: http://www.sn95forums.com/showthread.php?49261-HID-Help

Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers!
