Found out about this over at crownvic.net, my dad did this upgrade on his '03 Vic and it definitely helped a lot:

I want to do this with the Mustang, looks to be pretty easy (the tech explanation is given in the link). Also going to put the stock headlights/corners back in after I sand/polish them (still in OK shape for their age but a little yellowed). I'm not totally thrilled with my Ebay lights, and so they're coming off in the spring- wasn't happy with the light output or the corner lenses taking on moisture (they look like crap b/c they're dirty from the INSIDE!) *Wish I had read more about them here before I bought them... could have saved some money... live and learn

I'm prolly going to sell my Ebay lights- the corners will be cleaned out and sealed with clear silicone before they go.

Yeah man and I can tell ya firsthand it works! I want to do this at some point in the next month, who knows, this might be just the thing for you smoked headlight guys.
