Hey guys, I guess I will start my build thread. I don't have a lot of pictures due to the fact that I don't take pictures while working on my car, but I will start to from now on. Haha. So, to start off. Those of you that don't know me yet. My name is Justin. You can all me whatever you want. Preferably, Scott LeDouche. :p Anyhole, I have a 1996 Mustang GT which I picked up in the beginning of April this year. I bought it with the lowering springs, Bullitts, radiator, the ugly heat wrapped SR CAI and the BBK Shorty headers. Other than that, it was basically stock. I just did the PI cam swap and had loads of fun (sarcasm) doing it. Thanks to Duff and everybody else that helped me out by talking me through certain instances. I have a decent amount of things done. Here is my list that is growing quite often I've noticed.

Under The Hood: PI cams, Ford Racing 9mm wires, MSD ignition coils, SR cold air intake with a K&N Filter, EGR delete, poly motor/trans mounts, underdrive pulleys, Mishimoto aluminum radiator and BAMA Tuned! :D

Exhaust: BBK Shorty Headers, BBK O/R X Pipe and dumped Flowmaster Delta 40's.

Suspension and Wheels/Tires: Eibach lowering springs (1 and a half inches in the back and 2 inches in the front.) Maximum Motorsports Camber and Caster plates, Quick ratio rack and pinion (can't remember the make. Sorry), 275/40/R17 Falken ZE502's in the rear and 245/45/R17 Carbon Series up front

Brakes: PBR calipers ('99-'04 Mustang GT calipers.) drilled and slotted rotors in the back and steel braided brake lines all the way around.

Drivetrain: Steeda short shifter, SR adjustable clutch cable with firewall adjuster and quadrant, Fidanza clutch set and 3.55's in the rear.

Interior: Mach 460 sound system, LEDs in the gauge cluster and HVAC controls and some off brand 3A Racing seats that came with the car.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of my car and I will post ones that I do have progress of as I find them in my computer!

One of the first photos ever taken of my car.

My buddy's MKIV Poopra and my Turdstang.

Another one of mine and my buddy's car.

Ugly engine bay.

My absolute favorite picture!

Here's another good one.

Alright guys. I'll be searching through my old pictures for some progress pictures a little later today.

I found the one of my before and after LED's. Haha.

Here's before

Here's after. Probably my favorite thing I've done besides repaint the blue pieces that the previous owner did...

Slap a turbo on that turdstand and spank that poopra.....

Seriously though, nice car. And just my opinion but I would go with something a little steeper than 3.55 (like 3.73 or 4.10)

Once I buy a daily, this will turn into a balls deep car and 3.55's were just a great choice considering I do all freeway driving to work and back. When I buy a daily, I plan on 3.73's and also deep dish 17x10 Bullitts with Nitto NT05R's.

Also, thanks man! I plan on going boost eventually. That's why I'm keeping my NPI heads and just swapping PI cams and intake manifold. Today was the first drive with the PI cams and holy crap. The power that was released after 3,500 rpm. Haha.

No. I have no plan future or even distant future plans of keeping up with his 700whp Poopra. Haha. He's just a really good friend. Haha. If I was worried about speed or being fast, I would have kept my old car. I love the 2v and after the PI cam swap, my motor woke up like crazy! Haha. Doing the manifold as soon as I sell these PI heads.

I sold my PI heads a couple of month ago too.. **** those suckas

Yeah. I like the idea of the bump in.power, but I don't like the compression bump. Especially in California. Haha. Crappy fuel. I'm sure you know that though.

that LED guage cluster looks a lot better.

Thanks MC! It really changed the look if my entire interior. Haha. Especially after I did the HVAC controls too.

Here's a small update. No pictures, but this'll have to do for now. At least until I get a new phone. Haha.

So, I finished up my PI cam swap yesterday. Had a weird issue I've never ran into before. The car would run decent when it was not fully warmed up. Once it got to operating temp, it just pulled power. Kind of scary feeling considering it was my first time doing timing chains on an OHC motor... Anyways, the battery light finally popped on which made me happy. Narrowed it down.

Popped the hood, pulled the alternator bracket and checked the alternator pigtail. The little one plug wire that comes off the three pin connector didn't exist (no clue where it went...) Went to a local junkyard and pulled and alternator pigtail from a V6. It's noticeably shorter. So, it is just a temp fix until I can get the correct one. Fixed my issue all together. Car runs perfect and pulls a lot harder above 3,500 rpm.

On to the fun part... Car smokes like crazy after idling for about 2-3 minutes... Instantly, I aim at the valve stem seals. Sure enough... Started pulling the plugs on the drivers side. #5 plug had a noticeable amount of oil. Luckily, that's the only plug that had oil on it. Considering I just put everything back together, I really do not want to pull the valve cover off and do the valve stem seals the sketchy way. So, I guess I will be just dealing with the issue unless there is a bandaid I can do for awhile. To my knowledge, there isn't though.

Well, that's where I stand right now. Nothing crazy planned for awhile. Probably just some trial and error things to go through soon though.

Towards the end of March next year the wife and I are moving into a house finally. I'll have my own garage and get a daily. Then the real fun will begin.

If anybody has any solutions on a bandaid for vss, that would be awesome. If not, I'll just keep extra oil in my car for awhile. I'm running 5w-30 Mobil 1 Extended Performance as of right now as well.

Well, it sure has been awhile since I've updated anything on here. Baby stuff, wedding stuff and work have been NUTS! Here's my current issue with my car now! Mind you, this motor only has to last a few more months. I am picking up an 02 GT PI motor from a buddy for dirt cheap and will be throwing that motor in my car while I build my motor on the outside. :D

Alright, every now and again after engine braking (let's say, getting off of the freeway. Engine brake in 3rd gear) I push the clutch in and my car dies. Never any other time. It only happens after engine braking. 3rd or 2nd gear. It happened awhile ago. I cleaned my idle air control valve and it went away until I just recently. Now it is very inconsistent. It'll do it mainly after freeway/highway runs.

It's like I turn the key off. RPM just drops to zero with the clutch in not rapidly or anything either. Oh, I am able to catch it with the clutch out sometimes and when I give it some gas, it jerks a bit like I'm push starting it Let's see what other info I can give. EGR is deleted, no cats, tuner takes care of the CEL's on those, valve stem seals are pretty shot on cylinder #5 that's all I can really think of.

My car is a 96 GT, PI cams, many other bolt ons and the SCT X3 handheld. Thanks in advance guys. This issue has almost got me in a couple accidents.

Edit: Not sure why the third paragraph is darker than the others..... -______-

So, I've come across a 4v Lincoln MK VIII motor from a 1997 and it is really cheap. I'm wondering if I should pick it up and get the rest of the parts together to do the swap. I'd like to get some information from somebody who has done it. Recently or ever. Anybody have any good information? I've Googled it and read stuff on other forums, but I haven't found any information I'd like to have. I'd really appreciate it guys. Thank you.
