so after riding in my friends car yesterday i decided i need a new cam. our engines are nearly identical except for the cam....i run a steeda #19 while he has the trickflow top end kit cam. steedas cam advertises .480/.480 with 1.6's i run 1.72 ford racing rockers so that bumps me to,in my opinnion, a mild .516. Right now im leaning towards TFS-51402000 which is .498/.510 with 1.6's so with my rockers thats a...... .535/.548 now i think i could handle the lift with stock pistons but the duration is 283 Int and 291 exh. has any one used this cam? and then any recommendations. i think my next step is some bigger heads. im only running AFR 165's and i feel thats prolly holding me back a bit. thanks in advance. :headbang:

The diffrence in power is probably due to heads, more than anything.AFR165 s vs Twisted wedges 170cc?cnc ported?I had the Trickflow top end on my last fox and the cam idled like a stocker,so i doubt that its much, if any better at all than the steeda grind.

I run the #19, I chose it over the TFS1 cam because I thought it was a better fit for our cars/AFR 165 heads.

Personally i'd expect AFR 165s and a Steeda 19 to have more power potential then the TFS top end kit.

intake is trick flow tack heat. my AFR's are cnc ported. His trick flows are the 170 cc but the non ported variety. i want to say he has 2.02 valves but i cant remember what the AFR's are 1.98 sound right?

I can't believe you're willing to do all that work for a cam swap.

You seriously think you are gonna have that much of a gain vs. the work. It's a street car man, just drive the car and enjoy it. :dontknow:
