I was browsing Ebay today and came across this listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330338040164&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&salenotsupported
Does anyone know what vehicle this upper intake came from. Physically, it looks identical to the upper from a 94-95 cobra, but all of the O.E. cobra intakes I have seen have the 5.0L and cobra logos on the top. This one says Ford Motorsport SVO. Does anyone know if it is the same piece, or how it compares to the regular cobra intake if it is not the same?

Im pretty sure it was a aftermarket peice offered by Ford motorsport for 94-95 specific cars. I believe Matt94GT has one on his ride.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't even realize that Ford had ever made an aftermarket intake for the 94-95. I'm glad I grabbed it when I did.

On the topic of intakes...I don't consider an intake manifold to be a very serious mod, but I have heard and read stories that the T4MO computer in my 95 mustang doesn't deal well with engine mods, and develops drivability and starting problems with even the most minor of changes. Is there any truth to this, or is it just false information spread to sell EEC tuners, TwEECers, and the like. Seeing how an intake is a very easy part to swap out, I would like to change it as soon a I find a GT40 lower to go with the Cobra upper. If there's going to be tuning issues, I'll hold out until I get the rest of my engine mods together, which unfortunately could be a very long time.

Yup it's true but not for an intake swap or exhaust upgrades. They don't like cam swaps, thats what they are referring too.

You can also use the lower intakes from a 5.0L Explorer or Mountaineer engines, as they basically are the GT40 lower intakes (along with a matching upper intake, but looks different).
