Crossed a lot of things on the list today!

I Started by taking out the t5 outside to drain it and changed the rear seal.

5 second later i tilted the t5 to drain more fluid and of course the 3/8 square socket fell into the pan ! Haha

After that i bolted back the t5 in the car and man i said a lot of bad word trying to put it in!. After 3 try i finally asked my girlfriend to come in the garage to press the clutch pedal when i'm putting the transmission in. Got it like that! Since the shifter is removed i'm going to fill it back up from there.

I also need to spread apart the h pipe a little bit since the bbk headers does not have the same center to center distance.

I present you the h pipe spreader 2000.

I heated the 2 downpipe with a torch and cranked the jack, and it worked great!

1st try in the car

THe h pipe needed to be spread apart almost 1 inch. Pretty happy with the result.

Next step was to install the driveshaft and the h pipe. Those steps were pretty much straight foward.

And since i removed the stock smog pump i need a new shorter belt. I tied a string and make my way around all the pulley and relieved some tension on the tensioner. And my measurment is like 88.25 ~ 88.50 inch, which is weird because online all the diagram for the 94-95 say to use a 90.5 inch belt.

The black mark on the string is what i got when i relieved the tensioner. I might have to check a second time before ordering a belt. The string is not strechable at all its pretty stiff. Maybe that one of my other pulley in not oem who know.

I went looking for a drivebelt today

I finally decided to pick up a 90.125 and 90.625 belt from ac delco.

The 90.125 was pretty hard to get on and my tensioner was at the minimum

I had to spin the engine by hand to get it on the last pulley! I think its maybe too tight. But the 90.625 belt bring the tensioner already past half its range.

Ill check tonight for other belt brand that maybe have the correct size. Maybe 90.25

Does anyone know if a foxbody h pipe can fit in a 95? I know that the hanger are not the same but i can play around with that. But i would have a chance to buy a bbk h pipe from a foxbody for really cheap locally.

I couldnt see why the foxbody 5.0l piping would not bolt up to an sn95 5.0l given the header exit mounts are the same. Just like what you are thinking, the hangers would be in a different location and also keep in mind the sn95 transmission is slightly longer which could place the H or X crossover in a different location. But Im with you, aint no thing to modify.

Little update,

I've removed the windshield wiper trim, mirror, convertible lower trim, taillight to repainted them in black because they were a little faded!

20240413_191522.jpg

20240413_191558.jpg

They are almost finished, but this weekend i also started the suspension overhaul. The rear was pretty straight foward.

Here is before

And after with the new kyb shock, quad shock and Eibach prokit spring

20240428_161638.jpg

The front was a little more complicated, the ball joint and tie rod boot were all torn, the swaybar endlink and bushing were dry as hell also

20240429_183541.jpg

So i ordered 2 brand new moog control arm, tie rod end and prothane swaybar bushing so more job to come this week!

Last but not least! I sended my wheels to powdercoat last week and they came back today! I am not a fan of chrome wheel so i had them powdercoated in Bronze.

Can't wait to install them!

Yes indeed!

i had a water pump failure on my 2016 vw golf, i changed it myself and if i had a lift in my garage that would have been a lot easier. So i decide buy myself one! And since my garage is not really tall i bought a small lift. Like the maxjax first generation with the manual locking pin!

1000006362.jpg
Here is when i unloaded it! I was surprised with the thickness of my slab! The lift company ask for at least 4.25 inch thick and mine was more than 6. I did not use the anchor that came with the lift. I used 3/4 wedge anchor that are 7in.

I also sold my quickjack for a little more than i paid a year ago! Quite nice!

Anyway here is the final result

1000006437.jpg

Its amazing how more fun it is to work under the car with this!

I also saw an ad last week for a aem ems standalone for 50$! But it is for a foxbody mustang. Came with the box and everything! I checked online and i think i can make it work with a 95 but it looks like a pain since the 94-95 fan are controlled by the ecu and fox's are not! If its too much job i will just sell it for profit and buy some SN95 parts !

Beside that, last weekend my rear driver quarter window stopped working. I hear the motor but it does not come up. So i removed the rear seat and swapped the 30yr old plastic bushing!

I also did the passenger quarter window also since the back seat was already removed!

Meanwhile i'm just enjoying the car every weekend! It's so damn fun to drive around with my girlfriend!

Next thing to do would be

Anderson cam
Afr head
Edelbrock or holley systemax intake
Injector, ecu.... we'll see! I'd also like to add a styling bar! I really think they look great on sn95!

May have to repin the ecm connector to get the fox ecm to jive with the sn95. It's mainly the injector pins and a couple others. The fan may also be able to work by moving it's pin in the connector that's if the AEM is set up for fan control. I know the PIMPxs is but not sure about AEM
Worst case you can run the fan separate with it's own relay and controller.

What’s a “styling bar”?
