canister purge solenoid

do i need this? what if i unplug it and plug the lines? trying to find a vacumn leak. what are the effects of not using it?

shouldn't plug it as its the vent for your gas tank.

you can plug the line to the intake for testing purposes but i would not leave it that way

If it goes bad or throws a code, the car will run like crap. Keep it. Its not hurting anything.

todah i pulled the inner fender. found the problem. the small angle hose was split. so i replaced all of the hoses attached to the canister. no more check engine light.i did find out thatmy 18's are chewing up stuff. so i threw my nittos back on. now all i need to do is find a stupid leak. does anyone know if there is a type of dye that we can use to help find a leak?

cant use dye for an air leak, most shops will be able to hook up a smoke machine to locate the leak
