Can't spin tires in 2nd????

I can spin all day in first but when I try to speed shift to second to spin em in 2nd, it kinda bogs out and doesn't spin....?? My last 5.0 spun in 2nd with ease and had less mods... any ideas??

EDIT: My last 5.0 was not a fox... it was a 1995 GT.

My old 5.0 was a GT my new one is a cobra.... old 5.0 had stock air box- new has CAI... old 5.0 had straight pipes-new has h-pipe (which NEEDS to be replaced... has a crack and is RUSTED)... old 5.0 had 16" rims- new has 17"...

All my Mustangs (fox and two 4.6L's) have never had trouble spinning right into 2nd gear

had the same problem with my 94 cobra. I cleaned the mass air flow sensor and wow what a difference, feels like a different car. :thumbsup:

+1 on this first. I had this issue with a 95 GT. Cleaned the MAF and I spun across a 4 lane highway and about 50 or so feet until I hit a corner and had to let out of it. My car was stock 3.08 CAI U/d pulleys and flowmaster mufflers.

tires are pretty wide, i THINK it has 3:73's... and NO the driver mod is not broken lol i did it all day long in my last 5.0 and my cousins 4.6... ill try to get a video for u guys lol

I spin hard into second with 17"s, 16" wheels spin into third. I think the tires are the difference, and FOX body cars do spin tires easier than SN95 cars, I noticed.

you say it needs to be replaced do you think your Cats may be clogged if you do have them.

I don't have any trouble spinning half way through 2nd with my car and my car is almost bone stock besides high flow cats and no mufflers straight to the tips. Only thing i did under the hood was take off the Snorkel. Of course i cleaned the MAF replaced the IAC and cleaned the heck out of the throttle body, and all the norm mait stuff also.

is spinning in 2nd that big of a deal to you. not spinning would be faster. also the 94-95 have the tip in retard built in so you dont grenade the tranny. the tip in retard retards the timing back inbetween shifts so you are losing a lil bit of power. other than that how well does the car run? maybe something simple can fix it. i just put new tires on my car and it doesnt spin nearly as easy as it used to which is not a bad thing imo.
