Car dies when shifted into gear

So this is the second time this has happened to me. I start the car just fine, it idles fine, and then when I shift into reverse or drive (auto transmission) it dies. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Check your IAC Valve.

Yeah happened to me ever time i would reset the computer, its just an IAC valve that I have to replace. Never understood it till later down the road.

Now that you mention it, both times this has happened was after the computer reset. I will get a new IAC valve this weekend. Thanks guys.
