I posted this earlier: http://sn95forums.com/index.php/topic,52043.0.html

I just got off of work, and went to start my car and Its misfiring bad too the point where it's barely moveable. I haven't moved anything on the engine just driving like normal. Any thoughts? I checked to see if my dizzy was loose and it wasn't. I haven't pulled codes because I've never done it before. I guess I'm learning tonight.

Re: Car is backfiring bad, help!!!!

What's done to the car? My car does this in the morning when I drive for the first 2-3 mins whenever I try to accelerate a little, pops and backfires but thats because of my cam/lack of a tune. Could be a simple MAF/tuning issue...

Just full exhaust, CAI, and a cam. It's weird that it just started doing that all of a sudden. The backfiring stopped, when I took it out for a ride. It's still sluggish at times and all of a sudden it will open up. When I come to a complete stop it feels as if it's about to turn off and smells just like a piece of burning charcoal (exhaust)

What cam and is your engine tuned for it? That's probably what's causing your issues, my car randomly stalls out too, does it more when it's humid out, mine smells like that at times too, usually raw fuel though.

needs a tune

Not sure why it would do it all of the sudden from a lack of a tune..That answer is so vague. It could be something else.

Maybe the IAC? Or the MAF is dirty perhaps? Same situation happened to me one time..cleaned the maf and it ran like new.

I just dropped it off at the shop, the mustang is just an extra headache I don't need right now. On a side note I'm getting the next 3 days off from work, should give me enough time to swap engines on the ranger. I wish I would've checked the coil before though

Shop called back, says my fuel pump is only pushing 30 psi and should at least have 35 so the car is running very lean, he's also getting a very low signal on the MAF. Which could more likely be bad

Wrong answer....even if thats at KOEO, 5 psi shouldnt make THAT much difference(not that its not possible), it might would lag but it shouldnt be running like complete butt. I'd be looking else where.
FUEL PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS Description Specification
Engine Running 30-45 psi
210-310 kPa
Key On Engine Off 35-40 psi
240-280 kPa
