i posted this in my build thread, but i figured it'd get a little more attention here.

alright, so today i was driving to school and noticed a really weird sound. it sounds almost like a rubbing sound? and the floor vibrates/rattles while it makes it. it's stronger towards the pedals too. any idea what going on? it happens when i'm rolling, turning, or on the throttle, but it stops completely when i brake. i know i gotta grease my bearings, so could that be what's making that?

If it's the fronts, which it probably is, they are not technicaly serviceable. I know some will argue, but they are just designed to be replaced with new spindle/hub you get from a parts store. I haven't had to get one yet, but understand they are not too cheap.

You can do one, but you know murphy is just lookin' for that. :)

$50 per what?

If it's only 50, that's cheap. I thought they were in the $150 range for each spindle w/hub. You only need 2 if it's the spindle.

y pipe ;p
and i did. nothings rattling. it feels like it's coming from the axle which is why i think it's the wheel bearings.

Do a standard wheel bearing test. Bad wheel bearings can generally be felt by hand with the front end off the ground.

grab the wheel ( while the cars lifted) at 10 and 2 position and wiggle it back and forth. if it wiggles theyre shot.

IMO, usually slop back and forth means tie rod ends, up and down is ball joints, and is you feel a roughness when you rotate the tire/hub is bad bearings.

Good to know man. I didn't think of it that way, but if you really think about it, the wheel bearing makes tons of noise when it's spinning. So really it makes sense. But yeah I can wiggle up, down, left, right, high, low, green, blue, red, doesn't matter it wiggles lmao. Thanks man. And Belberius! Keep that info in mind when you check out your car :)
