Yesterday I drop up a local mountain to hang out with a few of my friends and I noticed on the way there, the car was running much hotter than usual. As soon as I shut the motor off, the coolant started boiling from both overflow and radiator cap. I thought that maybe the thermostat is not working so I tested it today, and it works fine. I changed the radiator cap, and that works great now as well, but the car still starts to overheat as soon as I start going though gears fast. The oil and coolant don't have any traces of mix. There is no water coming out of exhaust. What could it be?

Could be a head gasket..

Could have a air bubble..

Pull a plug, see if any coolant comes out.

Are you sure the fan we installed is comming on along with the stock one? There might be a problem with the contact of the wires. Also you might have to try a new thermostat.

I tested thermostat this morning. It's fine. Both of the fans are coming on at the same time. I've spoken to some people I know, and they said that it could be detonation, which is actually pretty audible when I do get on the throttle. I'm gonna check the timing later tonight, see if that will do anything. I also got a pretty good idea that the car is running pretty lean. Few times that I have dynoed the car, the AFR was somewhere around 14.7-14.8 across the band. I've got an adjustable FPR at home, that I have not installed yet. I might try to richen the car up a bit, see if that will help the issue. I'll keep the board updated.

Few times you have dynoed the car..

The car dyno tuned or was it just on the dyno to see what it makes? There si really no need for an AFPR if the car is dyno tuned. With Diablosport/SCT software you can adjust FP in the tune.

Thanks Steve.

I'm gonna check what the fuel pressure is on stocker tomorrow, and install an adjustable fuel pressure regulator after to bump it a little bit

Nothing yet. I was busy with school work. Got a paper due tomorrow, I'm still writing it. We are throwing a new water pump in tomorrow, and I'm also gonna play with the fuel pressure, so that it does not detonate.
