Car revving by itself?

    Anyone know what the deal is? Sometimes my car will rev up to 2 grand by itself when i put it into park. Its been goin on for the past two weeks and i need to figure out whats wrong with it.

    Clean your MAF, clean your IAC, check for vacuum leaks.


    Dont forget to reset the ECU by unplugging the battery cable for about a minute.

    def. check the IAC (idle air control valve)

    mine used to do the same thing.. i could never figure out the problem.. it went away by itself after a while... hasnt done it since last summer.

    i did all those and it didnt fix the problem.. only thing i could think is that it was a vacuum leak or maybe one of those sensors are bad.

    did you drive it to see if the computer will correct it after the reset.

    yeah.. it still did it after like 100 miles..

    spray it down with carb cleaner to check for vaccum leak
