car trouble

car is running like total crap...when i punch the gas, it makes a high pitched winding noise and a random squeaking noise...just started a couple of days ago and it makes driving the car miserable...im fairly sure its not coming from the engine, cause when i take the car out of gear and rev it up, there is no noise....im thinkin it has something to do with the clutch or transmission or possibly even the rearend...anybody have any ideas?

probably your throwout bearing, but it hard to tell from your description.

yea...this was one idea that we thought might be the problem

i think you can get under the car and remove the dust plate from the tranny and grease up the bearing....or so i have been told. mine makes a lil noise, but not that bad...a month after i first got the car it started doing it really bad, so i just went ahead and replaced the whole clutch since i was just past 70,000 miles anyway.
