Hey guys, I just ordered some stuff from ChemicalGuys and got a free 16oz bottle of anything... So, I randomly picked V36 Polish to try out, since it's supposed to be for medium to heavy duty cutting. The question I have is, should I use something that heavy duty on my car? I'm fairly inexperienced with detailing and don't want to jack up my paint. I also have M105/M205, but I can never seem to get out all of the scratches with the M105. I'm not sure if it's because the scratches are too deep for a PC, i'm introducing new scratches into my paint by using dirty(not perrrrrrfectly clean) pads, or if I just need to try a more aggressive polish. I used M105/M205 previously on my old red vert, using more than one pass per body panel. To me, it seemed excessive, and I think it might have even "pre-faded?" my paint a bit. Any information would be great... I should be getting the stuff in soon, and i'd like to do a good detail on my coupe, since it is a daily driver and all, just don't want to mess up or waste my time by not removing the scratches/swirls. Thanks guys!

im pretty sure the V36 is not as heavy as 105, you will be fine using it on your car..

Hmm, alright. I'm just tired of polishing and polishing... and it looks just about the same. I figure i'm doing something wrong, but I can't quite figure out what. I figure i'll do EVERYTHING this time, including claying, multiple test spots at night with halogen lights, etc etc lol.

i was having some trouble with the 105/205 combo also. turned out to be my pad was soaked with compound and it was marring the paint, and you really have to work the 105 in, like really work it in, then the same thing with 205.

oh and clean your pad quite a bit and make sure that it is kind of damp.

How do you suggest cleaning it? I think that might be my problem. And, like an idiot, I forgot to order some pad cleaner lol. Any other good methods of cleaning them between passes?

i just washed it in the sink by scrubbing it with my fingers and some pad cleaner, then put it back on the PC and spun it on like speed 5 or so.

another one of my problems was i was polishing on speed 5 not 6.

Hmm. Alright, i'll try that. Though I don't think my problem is not cutting enough, but re-introducing scratches into the paint. I was definitely cutting(burned the edges of my spoiler), just had scratches still there.

Ehh, to some extent yes, but mostly longer, deeper looking scratches. I didn't have much problem getting rid of the swirls, but the bigger stuff didn't seem to polish out.
