Check engine light off and on?

Hey guys i put a upr xpipe on my stang and i have not installed mil eliminators so i was driving the car toaday and the light turned off does that mean i threw a code or something? im confused by it any help would be cool thanks

O2 sensors and ecu's are funny..they have a certain threshold they have to maintain. If the Ecu is happy with the signal from the rear O2's then no CEL. The same thing happened with my 5.0 explorer, CEL after removing cats, then one day the CEL went away, and never returned. I would give it some time and see if it comes back.

Thanks for the info i just orderd a set of mil eliminators so when they come in ill see whats going on.

Up stream oxygen sensors (in conjunction with other sensors) will read how the vehicle is running then suggest to add fuel or pull fuel depending on how things look based on exhaust gases. The down streams job is to say OK after going though the converter everything is where it should be so no other adjustments are needed at this time. When you took out the cats there is on change so its going to turn on the MIL for (normally) catalytic converter efficiency. Sometimes if your old sensors are weak enough, and respond slow enough, then you wont turn on a light because of the sensors being "lazy" or slow.

thanks duff daddy but it went back on today so it was all good maby just running funny but im getting my tune at r.e.t soon when i finish the last couple things i got
