check engine light

i just put an xpipe on my 95gt and done away with the cats and smog pump could this have caused my check engine light

Shouldn't because there's nothing to tell the ECU that you deleted them. Get a code scanner and see what pops up. Or you could do a search on how to do the paper clip method

thanks. i just got back with a code scanner and it came back code 564 which say its electro-drive fan circuit failure. just thought it was werid cause as soon as i cranked it when i had the x pipe put on it came on for the first time

are the 02 sensors connected? i installed an o/r x-pipe and only have 1 sensor connected, this causes the check engine light to come on.

i belive it is. it is kinda weird tho the fan runs pretty much all the time my 08 dont run half as much at the 95 does

low and hi speeds?
When you plug the code reader in, you'll hear a series of clicks then you'll hear the rad. fan kick on low speed for a couple seconds then the hi speed for a couple seconds.

yea its working on low and high. now i also have a code 217. when i leave out for work in the morning it spits and sputters
