Can never understand people who do that either, btw in what way does the R differ from the normal Cobra of that year?

They came with HD cooling, adjustable Tokico Shocks/struts and they were stripped for weight. No AC, no power windows
or locks,no power seats,no sound system and I think they were missing all the sound deadening material as well, and of course
they had the Cobra spec 5.8 instaed of the Gt40 equipped 5.0 like the Cobras, and 250 were all that were ever made for that
year.The Cobra R wasn't made again until 2000,and hasn't been made since.

that bitch needs to be beaten.. as in at the strip on a road course something. it was uilt to race not built to fucking look at..this shit pisses me off. its not art work its a car....this one in peticular was built as a race car. thats it I'm getting a loan so I can buy it. The first place I'd go is to the drags to get some baseline numbers. thats the truth with some cheese on it/

Here's some pics and info.
He's got a Magnaflow on it, subframe connectors, lots of other goodies, and is currently removing the tasty Cobra interior slimming the inside down and bringing it closer to the R specs.

"Yesterday, following the 5.0L [32v] engine swap into my Cobra, at Adrenaline Race & Performance, the Cobra made 398lb ft torque and "Well into the 400s" on the horsepower (the dyno's pegged at 250hp), according to Jamie at Jamsport.
It was only set-up on a basic tune too, just to get it running, as I'm waiting for a new intake. When that's fitted and with a performance tune (I'll have three to tunes to choose from with the new piggy-back ECU), should be closer to 430hp.
Car feels awesome on the road - so much torquier than the stock 4.6L. I reckon it should be a 12-sec car now".

It says "so much torquier than the stock 4.6L" but it has 94/95 tails...

Should have been out on a track somewhere instead of rotting in someone's garage.

there is a goodyear dealer in topeka, kansas (about 20min away) and they road race their 95 cobra r.
they still have the plastic on the seats, and the only thing they did different is bought some 17X11 rear wheels,
and threw some meaty tires on the back. the funny part is, the car has about 500 miles on it (about as much as collectors
cars) but it has actually had it's legs stretched.

I feel like most of you guys that it should be driven like it was meant to. Cars are an artwork I dont see how you could say otherwise, they are in just about everyway you could say a painting is art. I do feel that most of them should be out on a track, I am glad that some of the people who got a hold of these have done nothing to them and kept them original and mint for future generations to see in person and to just keep one the way it was from ford.

They also had foglight delete, no cruise control, V6 manual seats, HD cooling you mentioned (as in oil cooler, aluminum radiator, etc.), also 17x9 wheels with 255/45 BFG Comp T/A's
