Ok so a few people have brought to my attention the fact I should be chirping second and third under hard shifts. I've chirped 2nd twice... Since I've owned it... And believe me I'm driven the hell out of her. I wonder if the 18's have something to do with it or if there's something else wrong.

That's a broad question. I mean how old are your tires?

It's ok.... I can't, though that may be because it's so hard to shift fast with my tranny.

big wheels and tires will make a difference, second gear should be fairly easy to break loose, as long as were talking about a 5 speed car here. 3rd gear on a mostly stock stang i dunno about that, that would be some pretty rough driving.

2nd never breaks loose. I can't even continue a rolling burnout into 2nd. I let her rip today and shifted at 5k and 2nd just hooked up.

thats because your car doesnt have any power... According to your mods list, its still stock.. AND you are trying to spin such a big wheel... The Laws of Physics just arent working in your favor.

besides, wheel spin just makes you slower

I'm aware it's not powerful but I'm being told by local 5.0 owners it should chirp second consistently. I'm aware wheelspin doesn't mean faster but if I cant even put out like a stock 5.0 it's even slower than a stock 5.0 capable of creating wheelspin at shifts.

Mine doesn't chirp in second either. However, the car will start to slide sideways and there is a "buzzing" sound.

With my old 4.6 was mostly stock. with the OEM wheels with passenger sport 225 tires she would chirp in 2nd. As soon as i upgraded to 245s with 17 inch rims she wouldent chirp anymore

need crap tires or lots of power to spin into 3rd. local dingdongs are not the ones to listen to. canary, adder, and the others that know are. your bigger wheels are affecting the physics of cohesion and momentum keeping your car from chirping.

Yeah I figured it was the tires. She gets pretty wild most of the time the top of first and I'm thinking it's just quietly spinning into second
