Thanks that is what I was guessing to use as far as injectors. I think the tb and plenum will have to wait untill after christmas since I have been on a buying spree lately with the cams and intake.

well whatever you do, only get tuned after you throw the tb/plenum combo on. that way you're not wasting money by getting retuned.

I wont be getting it tuned until spring anyways. I still need to get everything together. I 'm kinda making a parts pile for now so I can have everything ready. I only have 4 days a month off work so something as simple as pulling the engine turns into a big job nowadays.

Ah I see, well best of luck dude, I'm looking forward to seeing your build. Way too many wheel threads on here and not enough horsepower threads!

Well I got the engine out today and I got the old heads off. The bores all look good still and the engine is actually really clean. I still need to get various stuff still, head studs, all gaskets, water pump, etc., before I start reassembly. I should take all of my leftover stuff and make a npi 5.4 to sell and recoup some money.

Well I got my transmission torn down today since I'm waiting on engine stuff and I found what I kinda figure I would find.

I guess I'm going to have order those beautiful billet shift forks I seen a guy selling, after Christmas. I still didnt see what was keeping the trans stuck in reverse, I'm just going to write it off as one of the busted pieces in there must have been screwing something up.

Sorry new job and pregnant wife. I started putting the engine back together and i degreed the cams. I found out even with degreeing them, I still don't have enough ptv clearance turning it over by hand. I double and triple checked everything and is just not happening. So I put the pi cams in for now and will just have running them, since money is a little tighter now.

I guess the dealer the previous owner bought it from thought it would "dress" it up, lol. I call it the pain in the butt I had to spend the nights before Carlisle dealing with.

A little update: I picked up 2 t45s, one for $200 and another I traded mu comp 270s for. I am going to use the one that was in a car and supposedly works good and get the other one rebuilt over the summer. I also got the engine back in the car tonight and started buttoning up some of the underneath stuff, ac and power steering. I will hopefully have the trans, flywheel, clutch, and exhaust done by this weekend. After that I'm kinda on hold for a little while until I either come up with some extra cash for a new heater pipe or find a good deal on a nice used one. I didnt read the PI swap articles well enough and I guess I completely missed that one. Oh well live and learn.

Well I finally sold some stuff on craigslist and got some cash to make my final order. Once everything gets here the stang will be running again. I ordered a mac offroad h pipe to replace my crappy bbk x, a new heater hard line, and a pro 5.0 shifter. I'm so amped to get her on the road again!!

Well I just realized I havent updated in awhile. I got the engine back together with the pi heads, intake, and pi cams. I put new gaskets all throughout the engine while I had it apart. Then it wouldnt start and it turned out my fuel pump took a crap while the car sat over the winter. I got that taken care of and fired her up. Once it warmed up compression started blowing into the coolant overflow, the engine started missing, and oil was leaking out of the rear main almost as fast as I put it in. Well being I just sunk my last dollars on gaskets, head bolts, machine work, and all of the associated things, I was pissed and had enough. I put the car on craigslist to trade for a 94=95 gt or a nice fox. I got a couple decent offers but they went south. After I had calmed down and my wife, who is a gm fan but loves my sn95, talked some sense into me, I decided to pull the engine again. I bought felpro head gaskets this time which had a lot more forgiveness as far as sealing and I figured out I had a brain fart when assembling the engine the first time and never sealed the rear main seal plate to the block with rtv or anything. I got the engine all done tonight and fired it up. No leaks, no misses, no issues. I am really glad I didnt trade it and forgot how much I love this car and the 430 gears.

I also wasnt sure if there was any issues with the pi heads I had bought so for now I'm just rocking pi cams and intake. I figure down the road some time I will get them checked out maybe ported and throw a set of cams in it then.
