How do you guys do it? Do I need the K&N Cleaner or can I just give it a scrub in hot water with a soft brush and blast it with the hose for a long time?

I just hate cleaning it, because I hate taking it off, havent cleaned it in 2 years...damn BBK fenderwell kit!

i dunno how bbk does it, but i know with k&n you have to take it off, gently brush off the dirt it might (and prob will ) have on it, then spray it with the cleaner that comes in the re-charge kit, then hose it off with some water (not hot, not cold, just straight out of the tap, and no pressure washing either), then let it air dry, then oil it with the filter oil that comes in the kit, then let that dry, then install it.

takes me about 2 hours or so total.

Get the K&N Recharger. I was EXTREMELY skeptical about it working much better than soap and water. Pulled my filter off for the first time since buying the car. It has an earlier version of the MAC CAI. The filter looks exactly like a K&N and is even the same color. When I pulled it out, it was insane I can not tell you in words how bad this filter looked. Soaked it in hot soap and water rinced it numerous times. Well it was still black. Just sprayed the K&N cleaner on it and soaked outside for the right amount of time and just gave it a shake and the cleaner came off BLACK, after washing it out more it looked brand new and it turned out the filter was maroon color lol. Its 14.99 here and it seems like it should last 6-7 times.

cool man im gonna give it a shot. i just hate taking that damn filter off lol.

Same here it ended up being a lot easier then the other two I have helped put on. 1 being my friends latest version of the Mac and a bbk like yours. I just had a big hose clamp on mine that I was able to reach from under the car and pulled it out from there.
