It only happens when I come up to a stop and have to sit there for a bit. The whole car starts shaking and there is a clunky noise that sounds and feels like it is coming from the tranny area. This only happens when I sit in drive for a bit, it runs fine when the car is in park or when I'm driving around, although it does down shifts sometimes when it shouldn't. I think it is my torque converter but want to see what you guys say.

my car did the exact same thing and all i did was replace the tranny filter and the fluid that came out when i took the pan off ( its like 4 or 5 qts. or something like that) and it hasnt done it since, i would do that before ripping out the converter and just out of curiousity, what kind of 60' times do you get, i just recieved a 2,400-2,500 stall converter and i'll be putting it in soon

I should do that it pry hasn't been done for a long time. Never been to the track so I couldn't tell you.
