So my cable snapped, and i ordered one off of ebay and it came yesterday..

problems started with the bolt holding the cable on by the engine dipstick not coming out, i broke it loose and it just got to the point where it was spinning and not backing out any further..

when i finally gave up on getting it out i decided to just run the new cable right alongside it and i got it installed with no problems.. what do u know about a gt that has two clutch cables.. lol

i drove the car around for a hour in a half last night with my girl just cruising because we havent had a chance to enjoy the car in 5 days and were both very deprived..

when i got in it this morning to come back home to get ready for work the cable snapped when i tried to start it..

cable was upr.. and now i guess i understand the theory behind the cable, so am i going to have to suck it up and just go buy the oem cable from the dealership ( 109$ ) or does anyone have any other successful solutions about the cable.. i need a good deal somewhere guys, i have money right now if someone can help me, wheather it be threw a deal at the dealership, or knows of a brand that doesnt fail.. or something, im in a jam and need a good deal as fast as possible so i can get trigger back on the road..

Thanks, i can be reached by pm or shoot me a email at [email protected] .. i have a blackberry so i can respond very quickly

Thanks sn95, love you guys

Do you have a mechanic friend that can get you the OEM cable from Ford wholesale? That old bracket really needs to come out of there..... somehow.

I have heard nothing but bad things about aftermarket clutch cables. This is just another example of why OEM is sometimes better.

x2.. When my cable snapped 2 years ago I replaced it with an OEM ford one, and it has held up awesome with no
complaints. If i remember right my cost through my work was around $75, but I'm unsure how much shipping would be
to you (OP). I'm sure the price of the cable has gone up since, I would have to double check what it is now.

maximum motorsports is just as good as OEM for half the cost. i snapped 3 Steeda adjustable in a two month period. Been using my MM one now for over 2 years with no problems.

Well Thanks for your deal steven.. but javi actually sent me to a guy at a ford dealer that i called up today, and definately took care of me.. he had oem cables for 57$ and the shipping was like 8-9$ i dont remember

so i was so astonished with the price that i went ahead and had him overnight it to me.. it was 22$ in shipping, yet i would have paid a additional 40+ for the cable if i drive 5 miles to our ford dealership.. so yeah i think ill pocket that money and take a extra 12 hours off the project to wait for a overnighted oem clutch cable..

think i came out ontop on this one, espically if i have no problems with this one.. seeing that i cant still get that bolt out on the cable securing it underneath the dipstick, i still may go ahead and just run it along the old stick and cut it when i pull my motor out soon.

update, its not the new cable, its the quadrant.. the teeth wore out. and now im in the process of pulling it apart.. i got the big part off and slid it off the end of the shaft, now im working on the back piece that has the smaller teeth

if i get a metal quadrant do i have to use the smaller plastic piece, because i have a feeling that im not going to be able to get it back on.
