I have a 94 GT which badly needs a clutch replacement. my question is what type of clutch is recommended for a daily driver but 350hp monster. i am heavy footed but hate having my lady in the car and she complains about the rough ride. i understand that stage 3 would give me ultimate performance but i loose the comfort ride. also what else do you recommend i do while i am underneath. time or labor isnt a problem cause i doing the project myself. learn as i goooooo

I've had really good luck with a Centerforce DF. It has a really nice soft feel and a lot of bite when I needed it. I went 1.5 60s with it and seven years later it's still holding strong (brother owns the car now). It held a h/c/i 306 with a 150 shot (493rwtq) and is currently holding a vortech at 11-12 psi running 7.00s @ 97 in the eighth.

While you're there change out the pilot bearing and tob for peace of mind....

That is what I used to use in my 92.

It is a lot more than he needs though. The spec stage 1 is a great clutch for a good price.

Spec Stage One - 410 ft. lb of torque $219.71

Types of Driving: Street, Drag, Drift, Road Race, Rally, Pulling, Autocross

For bolt on naturally aspirated and mildly modified forced induction engines. Stock-like daily drivability and very good wear characteristics.

High clamp pressure plate, steel-backed and multi-compound woven organic material and high torque sprung hub and disc assembly, bearing and tool kit.

I've had two Centerforce Dual Friction clutches come apart on me. One sent a chunk through my bellhousing. The other time a friction puck decided to let go about 600 miles after the install. Never again for me... but I seem to be one of the few that has problems with them.

Don't forget about the $900 crankshaft that spits oil out the back.

That would piss me off too! I just had really good luck with one. It's been in that car since 2002 maybe 30k+ hard miles. I just like how the pedal feels almost stock and how it hasn't giving up. Hell the car has had 3 different t-5s with the same clutch. I guess was just lucky

Probably not. It's just that I'm the unluckiest bastard on the planet when it comes to cars.

I feel ya man...I've been dealt my share of poor hands....

As for the original post.
Ram Powergrip! NOT THE HD, just the regular PG. Smooth and HOLDS....with not much more than stock pedal pressure.
It smooth in my buddies daily driver, yet held in my 418 powered notch.
