How much better are the cobra brakes then the GT brakes?

The GT calipers are bigger but the rotors are smaller so are the cobra brakes worth the money ?

I can buy some for $300 used but in good condition ...

Please anyone that has done this upgrade please tell me what you think...

I have Google it and there are mixed reviews like crazy....

I had the 99 and up GT brakes on mine for a while and then when the anniversary cobras came out, I switched to those for the pimpy red calipers just for looks.... but once I got them on and took the car to the track again, I realized how much better the cobra pieces are. The 2 piston gt brakes werent bad, but the cobras are much more responsive and really haul the car down from 80+ mph much more efficiently because of the larger swept area. 300 is a good price these days, if they are in good shape I'd jump on that deal.

I thought that you could buy them at vatozone or one of the other major stores and do a core-exchange with your gt brakes and they were not supposed to care? Anyone done this?

Scott, thats what I did. I did front calipers, brackets, rotors, pads and lines. I believe all that was a little over 300.

The caliper doesn't grab the entire rotor, so the centers of them rust. I waited till it rusted over then painted the rusted area black. Looks really nice.

cobra brakes are one of the best bang for the buck upgrades on a mustang.
