Cobra/Brembo?

It's about time for me to upgrade my brakes. I got a quote for $1500 (taxes/shipping incl.) for a full front and rear cobra kit with slotted Brembos all around. The same kit with Baer Decelarotors is $1300, and with the stockers around $1050. I'm leaning toward Brembo, because of their reputation but I'm not sure. Is $1500 a fair price for that set-up? Thanks...

That sounds like a good plan, although I've heard mixed reviews of that Brembo rear upgrade kit........ :dunno:

the only bad thing about the rear upgrade kit to the 13" is that it's still a solid rotor.....solid's suck ball's... i've went threw 2 sets "stock" on my car b/c it would heat up and warp under auto x style driving... vented rotors FTW.

All the pictures of the kit I've seen have shown it with a vented rotor. The problems I've heard have something to do with the E-brake, and the need for new/different anti-moan brackets. Anyone know of this?

really. Maybe they updated it or something... i saw a 13" kit with the brackets and rotor's but the rotor was solid. Solid's for the loss

I've got another question for the pros, does the Ford racing rear brake bracket kit (M2300M) require the use of Cobra rear calipers? I've been told that I can use my stock calipers with this kit. Any truth to that?

cobra rear calipers are the same as the gt's... just diff brackets b/c of the size of the rotor and the bigger rotor. :thumb: good luck

to be honest I'm almost 99% possitive that the gt and cobra rear brakes are the same thing. I know they use the same pads but I think they say they are different b/c they want you to spend like 200 or more on one caliper. Don't quote me on it but i know a couple people that bought those kits and used the same stock calipers. Let me check with them.

so if you are saying that you can use the stock calipers, why dont we use the same calipers as the ones we have on the front brake set up.

and dont worry about the answer i know your boys are gonna say "yeah they will work" pssshhhh

??? why would we use a crappy single piston set up on the front? lol I know your trying to argue with me on it but dude, i know the front is completely different. But the rear i "think" is the same but with a bigger and vented rotor and brackets. Like i said i could be wrong, but i'm looking for xavior i think his name is... he did the rear kit and used his stock calipers... at least i think it was him.
