over the weekend i removed the alt, coil packs, and air intake to do some painting. while disassembling things my dog got a hold of chewed the **** out of the air charge sensor so i bought a new one.

the engine is new only about 1500 miles. the car has 125k.

after i re assembled everything and took it for a spin i immediatley noticed it was lacking power. when i step on the gas the car kind of sputters and bucks, sometimes worse then others, but if i drive it lightly and casually it seems to drive normal. that is until i bring up the rpms to above 2k or anywhere above

also, when i decelerate it kind of bogs down at first. but also only really happens around 2000rpms or above

the ignition system is all new.

i cleaned the MAF while i had everything dissassembled

there arent any codes being thrown out except the usual stuck IMRCs code

not sure what else i can put to help explain. mods are in my sig.

anyone have any advice on why this is happening or what to look for?

and does the air charge sensor have to be facing a certain way? could that be it?

Re: help cobra malfunction

tomorrow im going to change the rear o2s and also change the EGR valve. im going to assume these parts are still original, so they need to be changed. i also changed the fuel filter and like i said ignition is all new. problem still persists.
so if the o2s or the EGR valve dont solve the problem, i give up and bring it to the mechanic on tuesday because i dont know what else it could be. oh and i will also run some fuel injector cleaner, even though i dont think thats the problem. ill try and kill 3 birds with one stone.

wish me luck

Re: help cobra malfunction

alright well the cobra is running tip top again.

the fuel filter was disgustingly clogged. put a new one. the old rear o2's looked chard, installed two news ones. and also changed the EGR valve.

also, one of the clamps on the coupler/throttlebody for the intake was loose, and wouldnt tighten so i put a new one on, i think that was mostly part of the problem, but everything else i changed was all original and needed to be changed anyhow.

such a relief.
