code trouble (imrc's)??

hey guys so as you may know i just got the new motor. the CEL was off for a while and then one day it came back on. i went to auto zone and my friend who works there checked it and said it was the rear 02s. which apparently is wrong.

so today while im at autozone i ask to check again and i get the code reader and this is what it read.

4 codes, 2 were the same. it kept saying Manufactured control vehicle speed/ idle control/ aux. input controls.
codes p1518 and p1516


i looked on the list and it says the codes mean.

* P1518 Intake Manifold Runner Control fault - Stuck Open.
* P1516 Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) fault.

when they swapped the old intake onto the new motor, they ziptied the IMRC's open, bc he said the computer that controlled them was bad.

they were ziptied on the old motor too, but never code a code for it.

i really dont want to be blinded by the CEL, how do i turn it off if its throwing these codes?? wont they just come back?

With the IMRCs deleted/zip tied open you will need to get a tune to shut that light off. Not all cars throw a code when the IMRCs are ziptied open though. Mine doesn't

just when i thought the damn light was finally going to stay off...

guess ill have to deal with it until i get a tune.

with IMRC deletes, would the CEL still be on and need a tune to get rid of?
