Any of you got this? I know there's Hagerty and one other big one but the name slips my mind at the moment.

I'm looking at Hagerty online, and it sounds like BS. I understand the restrictions and the need to keep the car in the garage, no problem there.

But it says every driver in the household has to have their own DD? My wife doesn't have a car yet so that alone disqualifies me? Beyond that though, if you are insuring a 1990 or newer vehicle, your DD has to be 10 years old or less? Seriously, what difference does the age of the DD make?

Guess I'm out, at least for Hagerty. The other thing I was thinking of was seeing if I can get an agreed value policy with my current provider, American Family. Would like to insure my Camaro for between $8k and $10k. I also just applied for collector plates for the Camaro so not sure how that works with my regular insurance. All I know is that for the last 13 years I've had liability only on it and I've been damn lucky.

Mine is through Grundy, yes you need a DD for every single licensed driver in your household

I argued the point that I work from home but they still said I need one so that if I wanted to run to the store or bank I wasnt using my car

Grundy had no miles restrictions and my car is insured for agreed upon value

Grundys here also, insured for agreed upon value of $35k. I looked around and couldnt find a better deal and with the money I have tied up in this car there was no way in hell I was putting it under a normal policy.

I'd recomend American Collector insurance. No need for collector plates. 5000 mile a year limit. I dont think there is an age limit on your other car and I dont recall them caring about others in your house having a car provided they are no insured on the Mustang.

Is there a price difference in a regular full coverage policy verses a collectors policy? I just go through Allstate for all my cars, but only have full coverage on the mustang for like 6 months out of the year then storage insurance for the remainder of the year.

The main difference is the declared value. For those of us with big money in our cars it makes sense. God forbid your mustang gets totalled, they only owe you the actual cash value of the car ($4-5k?). A declared value is an agreement that if your car is totalled they will pay you that amount ($15-20-25, whatever you choose)
