ugh...... well my CEL came on last night when i was heading back to my dorm room and i plugged in the xcal2 and it gave me

p0174 - System to lean bank 2
p0156 (i think) - intake manifold runner control error

so i cleared the codes and the light was off.. well i was getting on the highway about 2 hours ago going to target and i was at like 4,000rpm, not even getting on it really, just trying to speed up to get over into the fast lane. the CEL comes on again.... this time im greeted with:

p0171 - system to lean bank 1
p0174 - system to lean bank 2

awesome right?? i really need to get this gay data-logging to work.

Jforr, you know how to dual boot OS's? im thinking of buying a small external hard drive and putting XP on it and dual booting so i can get the live link to work.. idf if that can even be done with those. never done a dual boot before.

nope.

i did get a tune on there but it was a base tune for 93 octane and the mods i had done.

idk if this would make any difference but its like extremely humid outside today. and its hotter than normal

If the CEL persists, take it back to the tuner and have them give it more fuel. A lean condition is not good, especially if it is throwing codes.

you know you can richen the mixture a little till you get it straight with the xcal 3 right? all you have to do is reinstall the tune but when it ask you to keep or change settings, select change. from there you can scroll over to the fuel rich/lean and richen it up a little. that would keep you from burnin up your engine

Could be a bad MAF reading less air than is coming into the motor and giving not quite enough fuel. :dunno: I'd try just cleaning the MAF before doing anything else.

i think this has something to do directly with his tune. both banks are lean and he hasnt done anything but install the tune. mail order tunes from some wholesalers are known to cause issues. thats why i bought mine from Lasota Racing

he is the thing, you are getting a lean code, but you are actually running pig rich now.

The ecu notices a lean condition and automatically riches the fuel mixture...once it riches it the most it can then codes come on.

make sense?

Yep. I'm suprised it didn't show up on his scan tool that it went full rich. I know it will show up on a 5.0.
