i have a 96 gt with a procharger 347 stroker. 3 days ago the car overheated pretty bad about 75% of the way. i turned it off and let it cool and came out later and noticed a huge puddle of coolant under the car but no leaks anywhere. so i flushed the system and changed the oil and it all looks good. FYI though 2 weeks ago i just had the heads removed cleaned up and new SEC titan self sealing gaskets placed on with arp studs. today after i changed the oil and added coolant it was running like a dream again until i got on it then all of a sudden a huge white cloud came out of the exhaust and followed for for about 1/4 mile and it ran hot again and coolant blew all over the motor. my buddy and i looked at it and on the drivers head the first 2 head studs u can see were hissing and bubbling. any ideas what may be doing this. currently im running without a t-stat and water pump is working. no leaks anywhere. you thnk my head gaskets are bad already? anyone have this problem before? i need help so i know what to teart apart. any insight will help. thanks!

i would suspect head gasket if its overheating and pumping out white smoke...

is it a possibility that you put the gasket upside down? and maybe blocking a coolant passage?

Im not sure. I had a guy that is supposly really godo with V8 motors redo the gaskets. used bbk upper intake. trickflow lower intake. SEC titan copper head and header gaskets. ARP studs. now after a week of having the work done this is the second time the car overheated. i downshifted yesterday to lose this ford focus svt and white smoke came out of the exhaust for about 1/4 mile and then it overheated bad and shot coolant everywhere. got to my buddies turned it off and saw the first 2 lower arp studs hissing and bubbling on driver said. thinking the heads are warped or gaskets are bad. hope its just the gaskets. im going to order a set of cometic and be done. im removing the procharger to cause i just found out the 347 stroker motor is using flast top pistons at possibly a 10:1 or 11:1 ratio. NOT GOOD

Sounds like a blown headgasket to me. Time to do a block test.

rip the heads off and see if they are flat to specification if thats what you think it is. same with the block. i do not remember the name of the tool but it looks like a thick metal ruler. it is a highly calibrated tool and is always hung to prevent warpage. if anyone else could comment on my post and help me out with the name of this tool. and shove a feeler guage under it and compare it to ford spec's. again thats only if you think the heads are warped

yup, the cylinder leak down test. but do you remember what he should pump it up to for psi? if you do this remember to have the piston at TDC and be on the compression stroke so you know your valves are closed.
