Hi Everyone,

My car has had the aluminium cross over intake fitted at some point in its life, but I'm getting these spots of coolant on the block. Do the aluminium ones go bad too or is it just a coincidence and both of the gaskets are leaking?

The coolant level doesn't seem to drop but it's obviously leaking, even if it's only a small amount.

Thanks

Chris

Hopefully it's leaking at the manifold gaskets themselves. If it's leaking internally at the crossover, unfortunately you'll have to replace the entire intake as ford does not sell the respective crossover o-ring gaskets anymore. You'll have to pull the intake to inspect it any further. Unless you're able to pressure test the cooling system and see it push out with your own eyes.

The aluminum crossover intakes go bad too, just not as fast as the plastic ones. There is a thin plastic piece of the manifold that the aluminum crossover bolts to underneath the tstat. That plastic warps over time and leaks. You will need an entire new FRPP manifold if this is the case.

From where yours is leaking I suspect warping TBTH.
