So I finally get my car back together with the proper size belt and it's boosting 10-12 psi now!

Woo-woo!!

FKN Fast....

Well I took it for the test drive w/o the bumper and w/o the hood on it... too lazy to put it back on just for a test ride...

I got on it in 3rd and after a second my windshield was covered... I wasl ike wtf its raining??

Turns out its coolant...

If I leave the vehicle just sitting and idling... the coolant will rise and leak some out of the cap....

I guess going that fast it just sprayed the windshield.

Anyhow, someone said it could be the cap.. so I replaced that and it still does it...

With the hood on itll just leak out and get a little in the battery tray.

It's been doing this a while I just never really paid much attention to it...

What is could it be?

I know when i had that problem i was told i could have a blown head gasket or bad water pump.

I just changed the cap and the problem went away. 8knock on wood*

I would guess in the neck or at the top of the neck where the cap screws on. IF it is coming from around the cap.

i'd first check the top of the neck where the cap goes on, and check to see if the neck has a crack near where it connects to the radiator

:( :(

Wouldn't a blown head gasket have some other side affects as well though?

I replaced the cap and it still leaks... pretty sure its around the cap.. when I replaced the cap and it leaked again while driving... seemed like it was actually INFRONT of the coolant resovoir........

then it's not a headgasket. It's probably a line that got knocked off or a crack in the radiator. you could go get some dye and uv light from advance for like $10 but usually you have to drive the car for a couple days, then look.

probably not a head gasket then, those are the symptom's. Have you checked the thing's I mentioned earlier yet? Also look for an over tightened hose clamp, they can put a pin hole in a hose.

I'm at work right now.. I'll have to check the things later..

I quickly checked the lines... nothing wrong with them.
It doesnt leak just sitting....

And I am pretty sure its from the cap...

It builds up then goes down... builds up and goes down.... etc etc

put a pressure tester on it. you can buy them from auto parts stores, they come with adapters that screw on to your
radiator cap, and you use the supplied pump to provide pressure to the whole cooling system, through the radiator cap.
if there is a leak somewhere in your cooling system, coolant will start spewing out of that location. O0
