We rent Cordova Dragway the 3rd Sunday in Oct, this marking our 17th year. This isn't your usual test and tune, crappy track prep kind of day. We pay extra for excellent track prep throughout the day and usually have a handful of 6 and 7 second cars there. Hard to believe but the summer is winding down and it has become time to pre-register for the ever popular Vicary track rental day at Cordova Dragway Park.
Date is Sunday Oct. 20th, gates open 9am, racing 10am-5pm. cost for this event is $40.00 car/driver, $5.00 spectator at the gate.
Same program as the last couple years... you must pre-register yourself as a driver for the day. In order to control car count and have minimal waiting in the staging lanes we are taking ONLY 85 cars! Signups are available at the Peoria Winners Circle store and Midwest Chassis & Performance, Inc. in North Pekin. if you are out of the area or have questions feel free to call us at 309-382-6252 in the afternoons and we will do our best to make arrangements for you to get registered. Don't wait as the list is full every year!
We are restricting the entries to street/strip, and race prepared cars. Sorry, bikes are invite only and no 4wd trucks/diesel. To keep the racing surface to a premium, we prefer all vehicles to have race or soft-compound type tires.
Your vehicle must meet NHRA safety inspection at the track that day and they are more strict now than ever. The rules are there for your safety and it's your ass in that car when it's all said and done anyway!
As always, the track will have the parts breaking full prep in both lanes. We will run the street tires in the tower(left) lane, and race tires in the right lane to keep at least one side in good shape all day.
You have 6 weeks to prepare for this event... get your oil/antifreeze leaks fixed and make sure your driveline is in its best shape because years past have proven to be costly to those who don't. If you have leaks at the track we will warn you one time only. The next time you are done for the day - no exceptions. This event is busy but if everyone's cars are in good working order you will get plenty of runs and minimal waiting. Be courteous to other racers who are ready and don't make them wait due to your lack of preparedness.
