the slower you run, the longer you on the track, the higher the mph you will have you slow ******

Ya you are right, my car ran a 14.4 on street tires with a 2.2 60ft and if I put drag slicks on my car then run it down the track it wont make a bit of difference because their is no chance that my car could cut a 1.8-1.9 60ft with drag slicks [ya right].So ya you are so right my car dont make enough power to cut a better 60ft than a 2.2 on drag slicks my car would run the same time on drag slicks as it did on street tires, slicks dont make a bit of difference you are so smart .

but hte difference that teh slicks will make you will lose some time from that because of the "bog" from the lack of power to really hook hard like the slicks need to be used... i had that happen last year, when i went from a stock gear up to my 373's, my car still boged alittle and i ahve 100hp + on you lol

Is this thread still alive...I had the same arguement with this guy.

Still waitin on time slips...we will see.

I still dont think he will see 13s....and if he does it will be like 13.99

No one is doubting that you will probably be able to pull a 1.8-1.9 60 foot but even if you did manage that, I dont see you going any faster than 14.0-14.2 after its all said and done.

Your transmission and axles can handle a proper launch on slicks? Meaning a 4,500 RPM dump?

He thinks it can...lol

Im assuming it wont matter since he will probably just bog so bad that he wont be able to hurt anything

Bogging is bad very bad, it puts a lot of stress on components. that's when stuff goes snap. That's why what Ive read up on as far as using slicks its advised to not "ease into it" just give it hell, dump it at 4,000 +, dont trial and error it at 2,500 and move your way up. It will cause bogging and that's just not kewl

Hmm, I seriously doubt he isnt gonna bog with 200 rwhp in a 3500 lb car with like 3.27 gears.

Come on now, lets be real.

min did bog last year and all i ran with was the mickey thompson et drag SLICKS and i didnt get any type of slippage from the tire, just let it out at 4500 nice and easy NOT side step or dump. and then just took off once i went 373 and 4800 it was a lot smoother, but then again i have more power and a pretty fresh clutch from what i found out today lol

If you are considering a proper launch holding the car at 4000 to 4500 rpm then just side stepping the clutch my car will never see a proper launch. You would have to be a complete dumb ass to do this just slamming shit together is no good,I always preload the car when launching.
