Crate motors

I was wondering if ford makes high performance 4 cylinder crate motors and if so where can i find them? I want to take a classic mini cooper that weighs 1275-1575lbs and put about 250 to the wheels :laughing5:

There is a company that makes a kit to put in some honda engines. A moderator on another forum I visit has a B18 stuffed in his mini.

I second the honda swapped mini. Honda motors have great efficiency, and tuned properly will make a ton of power, NA or FI. I read this article a few years back, when I was a VW guy. It was published in European Car Magazine.

Looks like GoMini went belly up, not too long ago looks like you'll be looking for someone else to do a swap, but honda motor is the key non the less.

yeah i know alot of people put hondas in them and i love VTEC and used to have a RSX-S but i was kinda thinkin about trying to do something different i was hoping a motor from the focus RS (euro) would fit for something a little different but its probably a lot of work

Euro RS focus motor is probably going to set you back a LOT more than a honda motor, which you can get left and right. Cosworth stuff is never cheap. Then you will have an issue of finding everything to make the motor fit. I know that doing something different is cool ever now and then, but when you are doing something that has not been done before, you have to make your own way, and many parts are one off. This makes the project overly complex for no reason what so ever, and a lot more expensive.
