hello, i was thinking today that i have a 86 5.0 motor that ive been meaning to rebuild for sometime now, an well i was thinking for some crazy reason of swapping that motor into my 93 nissan 2wd pickup. i was wondering if that was really possible without going through hell an back, an if anyone could point me into the right direction on where to find any info about such a swap. like i said it was just an idea. :TY: all for your help.

hahahaha.. this thread makes me laugh... because right now a buddy of mine just bought a
93 or 94 nissan pickup he got for $200 with a blown motor, that he is getting ready to put
his 306 in.. he said there is a motor mount swap kit from summitracing that he got.. and i believe
he mentioned he will have to get a custom ds made. I had to double check your location and screename
to make sure it wasn't him.. small world

A friend of mine did this with his Toyota. They do sell an adapter kit and you will need to change the front springs. We found that out after we put the motor in. the new engine was much heavier than the old 4 cyl

You could probably fit a ford 8.8 rear end, find a tranny (not sure if a t56 would fit, but that would def be cool), and then just make the drive shaft the proper length. You should be straight as far as the physical part of the swap, just gotta also adjust the linkage for the shifter so it will be positioned properly too. I don't know much about swapping (never done it), but it seems feasible.

this swap has been done quite a few times. check out 4x4parts.com for basic swap parts and nissancustoms.com has a v8 hardbody area.
