Current Winter Projects... couple changes in store for the GTS - dyno results

Well I finally found a nice daily driver so the car has gone into hibernation. I've purchased a couple cool things and thought some of you guys might like to follow my progress. I'm working full time right now and still have a couple classes going on so updates won't be daily but I will be sure to post up any info/pics that I can.

Here's a list of what will be changed/added to the car.

edit (4/26): vortech install begins, page 2.

-restoring a set of oem cobra headlights (will replace my smoked set)

-nmra windshield banner (sounds gay but it will look awesome, sorry no pics) goindeaf might have pics of this

-wingless decklid (removed from the wrecked 98, shaved, and currently still in need of some prep work)

ahh wingless

-HO fibertrends cobra R hood (gotta thank my pops for this one)

ready to remove the stocker...

-95 cobra intake manifolds (I plan to 'refurbish'/clean etc. and will be polishing the upper intake... possibly repaint, plans aren't set in stone for this)

I believe that's it for right now

Sweet! You always seem to have good taste in your rides ( at least similar to mine which means good! ) so I am sure it will turn out great.

You should get the manifold media blasted and powdercoated. That would look neato.

you should keep the wing, imo. and why are you changing ur smoked headlights, the car looks sick the way it sits. I love the hood tho

No matter what you do it will look great. I'd keep the smoked headlights tho, I think they look great on there.

car looks hott. what are you gonna do with the smoked lights? if you decide to sell them hit me up i will buy them. if the fundage provides throw a chin spoiler on the car. it will make that hood look even better.

I'm plan on polishing it... but if it doesn't turn out as planned then I will probably have it powdercoated. we'll see

the wing has to go, that has been my plan for this car from day one. The car is a GTS and they come factory without a wing... so mine is going to stay wingless (however, if for some strange reason I ever do decide I want a wing, my stock decklid and wing are in the basement and they could be swapped in a matter of minutes.)

same goes for the headlights, I'm not selling the smoked ones. I'm a fan of having spare parts and they will be available to swap out at my discretion... I've just always had a thing for cobra headlights.

ugh, I can't stand chin spoilers on pre99's... they just look terrible imo, I mean they just don't fit at all, with anything.

Coming from a guy who has had a bunch of polished stuff on his engine... Don't do it.


It is a bitch to keep clean, not oxidized, and looking good. You could always do "chrome" powdercoat, or actual chrome, or another more 'sedate' color.

Yeah, polished stuff is high maintenance... but I enjoy working on this sort of stuff. I have polished a lot of other crap that has turned out great, and held up surprisingly well.

the first semi-update. nothing major, but I have one headlight and turn signal done and decided to throw them in to see how they look.

I think they look great, what do you guys think of them?
