Well haven't gotten to fix the GT bc now it's not doing it! Gonna try to drive it tomorrow and get it to act up!

Finally got it to act up again and throw a code. Had autozone scan it and it was a miss on number 8. Replaced the coil pack and it seems to be running fine now.

cross you fingers and hope that code doesnt come back... did you try to move that coil around any? to see if the issue jumps? I had an issue with my throttle body position sensor and it was fun to limp it to the parts store to get the code read and fixed.

Also and a coil pack go out on me. I had accel coil look like it got bot/ black inside. replaced the coil pack and it works great. checked it a couple of times and no issue. i also replaced the plugs and wires while i was at it so i got most of the spark issue solved.

Hope that sorted it. The early 4.6 coil-pack ignition is much easier than the 99+ COPs. I might have missed it elsewhere in the thread but what shape are your wires in? Are they touching anywhere?
