So a couple months ago, I was told by oil can henrys, among many other people, that my oil pan is "dented" and is leaking oil. How important should it be to get it changed. The bad thing is, I will have to pull the motor or drop the k member correct? Worth it? Also, I have autometer oil pressure/temp guages. What should my car be running at on those guages and everything like pressure and temp wise?

Well if it's leaking you should probably change it, is it leaking? It would be hard, to say the least, to dent your pan while it's in the car, and very hard to really dent it. But yes, if it does need changed, you will have to lift the motor at least 6 inches.

As for pressure, my 2v ran at a little over 90 psi cold, and between 60-65 warm. Temp stayed at 190-ish alway's, unless I did a bunch of hirgh RPM balst's.

Mine is 80 cold. And 25 warm. I have been told that that is normal because 2V oil pumps put ot a lot of volume but a less amount of pressure.

I dunno. I think I smell a rat. How bad is it dented? A small dent wont make much difference and shouldnt make it leak. Now if it was wacked hard and the whole thing is bent thats diff. I keep tellin you guys to stop lowerin these damn cars. :)

If you have a dent in your pan big enough to cause a leak chances are you should be able to look back and say: "you know what. I do remember running over a bolder." or "Hey man, remember when we went curb jumping in the stang?"

If none of these ring a bell then the culprit could be a sledge.

This is what I'm saying, lol. It would be hard to significantly dent your pan without ripping the K-member off the car...

yeah well heres the thing...I flew down to Cali from Oregon to purchase my car about 2 and a half years ago. The guys who had it before me did almost everything the car has on it right now...headers, cold air, shifter, lowering, ca's (which i just changed out cuz they were crap), gauges, tint, wheels, full exhaust, etc. So, I am a little sketch that the stuff has been on my car way to long and most of it needs replacing, like the gauges and ca's which i have already done. So I need to crawl under her and check out the oil pan cuz she left a pretty good patch of oil on the ground after i left her parked over night.

Ok well I will have my mechanic check her out next time I run home. Thanks. Void, how did you "shave" your antenna? Also, how does your car ride with all the poly bushings and stuff you installed?

the whole antenna thing was removed then a piece of sheet metal was weilded in and then covered prepped and painted... then no antenna.

The car is a lot stiffer than before, rides a little harsher but not as bad b/c of the shocks and struts. I have noticed a little squeak sound coming from the front... don't know if its because of the poly a arm bushings..

yea can't stand it though, i want my car to be perfect... one day when i don't drive it anymore it will be totally rebuilt, restored rather... But i will probably then put the factory rubber bushings back in, but the poly bushings are sooooo much cheaper than the factory stuff... On second thought if i would have saved my money from buying the poly bushings, springs and ball joints... i could have gotten tubular a arms and an coil over kit... since i already have the cc plates. Man hind sight is 20/20 for sure lol.
