For peoples who live in europe it can be a great choice, look the spec :

Yes, we couldn’t believe it either when we saw this Mustang parked in a booth outside Hall 3.0 in Frankfurt. Is it possible, a race-ready Mustang equipped with an eco-friendly, 4cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that runs on bio-diesel? Yes and it delivers 280 Hp and a maximum torque of 500 Nm or 368.8 lbs/ft. allowing the race car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5,0 sec and to achieve a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

It's probably just a concept car for now.

German engineering is the best in the world. Only problem I see is rabbits nibbling on the body in your driveway LOL.

The Turbo Diesels in Europe are amazing. I've chatted with other Ford workers in Europe and have been told about the performance they have there with them (production cars). They also have had the clean (low sulfur) diesel fuel there for years, and Ford has been building cars in this market for years. You would be very impressed by the numbers; 0 - 60 in 6 seconds from a 1.8 turbo diesel, and 40 - 60 mpg.

Now that the US government has mandated the same for diesel fuel here there are many people in the know that are hoping Ford brings these engines to the US. I would certainly like to see them here. As for the diesel noise I read an article by a journalist who said, while test driving a diesel car, he had to look under the hood to believe it was a diesel because it was too quiet as diesels go.

In this article they also stated that the Mustang's panels were made from raw vegetable content. Ford is making seat foam right now (your new 2008 car and some 2007 cars) with seat foam that is made from 60% or 70% soybean oil. The big trick was taking the plant smell out of the foam. They are working on a 100% soybean seat foam. When the car gets trashed you can probably fertilize your garden with the seat foam.

there needs to be a cummins in that bitch

AS dumb as it sounds, i'm an Engineman in the Navy, and the only Engine we have onboard the ship i'm on, is Cummins... so on our 8 month deployment, there were a whole bunch of what if's and that came up... "what if we put a small turbo Diesel in a Mustang". i guess when you sit around for 8 months, you come up with some crazy ideas... we talked about a Cummins twin turbo diesel Mustang, and also taking a VW GTI and converting it to rear wheel drive... now THAT would be some crazy shit. LOL

It's true, in Europe there 60% of diesels cars, the regular liter of unleaded cost the double of what we paid in Canada, so a 4 cylinders Mustang whit a turbo can be attractive for many, in Europe and in Canada, maybe in U.S., I dint want to remove V6 and V8 Mustangs, but IMO a basic models whit a four turbo seem not bad.

It could be fun to blow people away at the light, have great acceleration at lower speeds on the street, great acceleration going onto the highway for some fun, and get 50 mpg. Then when someone wants to know what you've got under the hood just say......"Oh, just a 1.8 litre......diesel......

There are a few of these swaps popping up. I've seen a Duramax "Gran National" replica. Duramax C5 Vette. They put a Duramax in an impala on Pimp My Ride of all things....there is also a chevelle underconstruction out there somewhere as well. You can't beat 800+ hp, readily available fuel at almost any pump, and 30 mpg....whats not to love. I LOVE my 04 Cummins more and more everyday.
