^ i have the same question, im sure my dad didnt change the diff oil when he drove it, i have it 6 years and also havent changed, should I? Also another question regarding oil, might be stupid but i really dont know, what kind of oil does the manual transmission, how often do you change it and from where do you drain the old and fill the new oil?
The oil change intervals for the tranny, rearend, oil should all be in the service book and if not just call a local Ford dealer and ask. Your deff not hurting anything by changing the oil in the tranny or rear end so go ahead and do it.
A manual transmission takes any kind of oil but it has to have the synchromesh additive in it. There is a drain plug in the tranny you use that to drain it and there is a fill plug as well.
T5 and T45 both take ATF, no friction modifier. Think he may have typed that wrong and was still talking about Ford rear diff's

Is there actually an additive for tranny's called synchromesh? I know royal purple makes some stuff called that.. but I thought otherwise it was just ATF. That's where I got confused.
