My Mustang is a piece of shit...seriously everytime I work on the god damn thing I just see some other bull shit that the dick that used to have it left. Like broken connectors, loose bolts, broken vaccum lines, AHHH It makes me crazy. Its grimy and filthy underneath, my clearcoat is peeling off the hood, its got dents and dings all over it,it needs new shocks and struts, the rear bushings are so chewed up and dry I can barely take off without experiencing wheel hop, my driveline vibrates so bad it comes through the shifter at high speed, and my clutch is slipping like crazy. Not to mention my ignition is broke, and I cant figure out why the CCRM wont turn my fan on so I have to get out and hook up the jerry rigged wiring harness I made that goes directly to the battery every time I go some where. AND MY FUCKING FOG LIGHTS WONT WORK!! AHHH Im just getting more and more pissed off as I write this!! I should just sell this FUCKING piece of shit and start over...

Thats what Ive been doing...and yeah alot of them were their I just didn't know about 'em untill I started digging. I just kinda needed to vent, I think the thing that pisses me off the most though is how dinged up the body has gotten over the past couple year and thats the side of things I dont know how to work on, so even if I fix all the mechanical problems, it still needs new paint, and it still needs the dents fixed...so Ill have a car that looks crappy, but has no mechanical problems. I really dont wanna spend 4000 dollars having a body shop making it look brand new either because I only paid 4000 for the damn thing. I wanted to learn how to paint, but its a hard and long process to paint a car and then have it flake off or orange peel or look like shit, so Im scared to try doing it myself.

Just make a list of all the problems and start knocking them off. then save and get a paint job, make a friend that knows how to paint

That happens man. We've all been through this stage. It's from the interwebz. You go to streetfire or youtube and watch a really nice looking car that's mechanically sound and fast and then look at your own car......

My ccrm doesn't turn the fan on either. My clear coat is flaking too. I've also got paint that's coming off as well. On another sight a guy said you can get it at Advance.. Those stupid plastic connectors always break and so do the vacuum lines. BLA BLA BLA keep after it . You can do it . The saftey and reliability stuff has to come first.

Man I know exactly how you feel. I've got nearly $9000 in this car as it sits right now and for the most part, it runs and looks like crap. Of course, once it gets out of paint it'll look nice, but then my total will be bumped to $10k.

instead of a ccrm you could by a fan controller for cheap and wire it up.

These are not 3 year old cars that don't need maintenance. Connectors, hoses etc need to be checked and replaced....
If you take care of these issues and stay on top of the maintenance these cars can last a long time.

Body dents are usually because owners are not careful where they park. I have one small ding from an idiot co-worker over a 13 year ownership. If you treat your Mustang like a 20yr old beater and just park it in the first open spot etc and don't take care of it then it will be in the condition that you described.

Remember its a mechanical device and it can be fixed.

I can understand. Equally the same, you need to realize how silly it sounds. Loose bolts, tighten them. Loose vacuum lines, plug or cap them. Dents and dings, get a paint job. Dirt and grime, wash it off. It seems like alot, but in reality it's not hard.

Ha thanks for all the support guys I feel a lot better this morning. I almost was ready to call summit and cancel my nitrous system. I ordered it cuz I need something fun instead of just a repair.

Paul said:
Sell it and get one that isn't beat.

Truth.

My Cobra is in rough condition too. But I bought it with the intention of it being a project/weekend toy and my vert being the "nice one".
Well as it stands right now, the vert is down waiting for me to put the motor back in and the Cobra has been stepped up in use. There are things wrong with it externally but the mechanical part comes first to me. Nothing worse than having a fun, good looking car that you can't rely on. I'd rather have that ugly car that does what its supposed to... EVERY time.

For now, my cobra is that fat girl that even as bad as you treat her she just wont go away. And even though many of my car buddies that I hang out with have newer cars that look good, they all know my Cobra runs just as well as theirs and that my 15 yr. old convertible looks better and in many cases runs better.

not trying to be rude at all, but it seems a bit silly for you to purchase a nitrous kit when you have all of these mechanical issues. it may not be a great idea to put the kit on until everything is fixed, it would be more of a headache if you were to blow something up.

Eh the engine is fine, its reliable, it just needs a clutch and the nitrous wont be a problem. The engine runs like a champ, its just dumb little things that take away from the fun of the car like the paint, and the noisy suspension, and my head lights are triffilin, and my fog lights dont work. It runs great though. My next project is gonna be a clutch and rear main seal, I just got a little overwhelmed last night cuz I was wrapping up my power steering rack I put in and a new ball joint and I was just lookin at stuff and it just hit me, all the time and effort that this car is going to need to get it to where I want it to be. Itll be worth it though, because that feeling of satisfaction when you get something accomplished on your car is like no other. The nitrous is to help me beat up on the imports at the track too, im just gonna start out with a 75 shot, and if it blows up, it blows up, and then Ill put an LS1 in it like Nic haha. My priority right now is to get this things leaks fixed, get the clutch right, and the nitrous installed so I can get back into racing...
