just like the title says? does anybody use them? i've got bbk equal length shorties on my car and for some reason my front left two bolts keep wearing themself loose. every few weeks or so i have to go in and tighten them up. so i was wondering if they are worth the money and what length should i get?

nahh.. just figured id do them more for the security/peace of mind aspect of it.. ive still got my stock setup in mine.. mostly cuz the day i was going to buy the headers was the same day i got laid off.. so i ended up not getting them.. then went back to school which drained every penny i had.. if you still have them and theyre long enough i would try using the stock bolts really... they might possibly hold better... ive had my manifold out a couple times and havent had problems with the bolts coming out yet..

the question should be, how many people did headers and wished they had used them the first time. Best money ever spent.

after i pulled the head off when i put the header back on i got new header bolts and used splitlock washers. havent had one back out on me yet. i retightened them after heat cycling it and they have been fine for a year now. I cant remember how long they were but one problem is the bolts some companies send out are "universal" and shorter than what you can use. U cant use a little longer bolt it will be less likely to back out. ill look and see how long mine were

Header bolts are a pita! Makes me wish I hadn't put the headers on. I purchased stage 8 locking bolts and everything has been good so far. Haven't used the car much lately though.

a friend of mine (with a short temper) was putting some on for a customer, got frustrated and just put RTV on the threads. He said the bolts never backed out. Anyone second that?

shouldn't you just use loctite on the bolts? I'm gonna use the bolts that came with my headers.

you cant use loctite on header bolts because the heat of the head, as well as the header will just melt the loctite.

Remember heat is equivalent to pure evil to loctite lol
