Ok... heres my plan for tomorrow...
1. Remove the 8.8 out of the sn95 parts car I have
2. Remove the 7.5 out of my LX
3. pull the front brakes off the sn95 parts car
4. remove the front brakes on the LX
5. put front brakes and 8.8 into the fox
6. Restore the parts car back to a rolling chassis
Ok... pointers please...
I am not 100% positive as to whether or not the sn95 8.8 and the LX 7.5 is interchangeable... I was told that they are, but people talk stupid when they don't know what they are talking about. So I want to be 100% sure. I need the fox for daily transportation. If you know, that are are in fact interchangable with out a doubt in your mind, let me know.
Will I be able to do this in a day? Day and a half?
How do I compress the springs with out a compressor? Tips, pointers and advice are appreciated.
I was just looking under both cars. It doesn't seem like it would be a very difficult task... but I want to make sure before I dive into it and I have no car come Monday afternoon.
oh yeah... and heres why I need to do this.
1. The brakes on the LX combined with the bicycle tires are unsafe for the roads. Winter is coming and people around here drive like animals. You would not believe how many fatal accidents I have avoided. I am very thankful for the fact that I do not have ABS, cause I would have had to fight it several times... lol...
2. The rear is a time bomb. There is space in between the pin and the spider gears. I can actually twist the drive shaft a good 30 degrees back and forth. I don't want this thing to grenade on me and leave me stranded.
3. I want posi. One wheel peel + bicycle tires, again, not safe... Theres also something fucked up with that. I jacked the car up off the ground, I put her into gear, only one wheel turns. The other wheel wants to turn, it actually does turn, but very very very slowly and in very short bursts. So the limited slip is fucked as well...
