Doing a 7.5" swap, do I need these brackets?

Dropping the 7.5 for an 8.8 out of a Fox. Besides bending some new brake lines everything looks like it'll swap over. The 7.5 have these brackets that clamp around the axle with a U bolt and connect to the back of the backplate.

As you can see they won't fit with the perches in the way. Are these necessary?

Yes you need those brackets...what exactly did the rear end come out of? I don't remember my 91 Gt having those rectangular perches welded to the axle tube

The guy I bought it off of had it on his Capri but other than that I'm not sure.
