I'm having a weird issue with my locks. They will to cycle but don't fully cycle they sound like there trying to but don't fully cycle. Both sides do it and when it is the lock unlock buttons don't work . Usually the only way to get them to stop is to unhook the battery . I use to be able to hit the driver side kick panel and get it to stop but that's not working lately. Any help be appreciated thank you

the door locks are wired up with a system that is called a 5-wire reversing polarity rest at ground system. Its every bit as technical as it sounds but being lazy we shorten it to being called a 5-wire system. The advantage to it is that it uses no relays, the switches to all the work so it saves on mechanical/electrical parts but the bad part is that is a royal PIA to trouble shoot. It uses a master/slave switch system that depends on ALL of the contacts/wires being connected or else it starts to do some weird things where both switches might only unlock/lock or suddenly then are both dead. It sucks to trouble shoot because it could be a bad switch, or a bad connection between them and that leaves a lot of wire to trace to figure out where it became disconnected. If there was a spot you were kicking at one point to get it to work then start there. The lock wires are all pink with different stripe indicators on them with pink/yellow and pink/green being the lock/unlock wires but if any of those pink wires are disconnected it can cause problems. There should be a harness in there check it out to ensure all the wires are still connected and don't be afraid to give them a good pull/tug to see if the pins have slipped out of the harness and are not making contact. If you can't see anything and it still is not working try to trace that harness as far as you can to ensure that there is not a wire possibly cut by a previous alarm/keyless entry install which if you know of one should be the 2nd place to check

It had a aftermarket alarm in it but that was causing issues that another story. I took the Brain out and as much of it I can . There a bunch of wire taps behind the kick panel . Thanks for the info I know what wires to look for and check now . I'll let you know later how I make out . Thanks again

if you had pulled the relay module that is installed during the alarm install you would have had 2 wires to reconnect or the door locks would not work at all. Follow the blue/green lock/unlock wires to the relay module that is probably mounted down in the drivers kick panel. Check those connections and see if you can get it working with out removing them. If you do remove them you need to be carefull to reconnect the pink/yellow and pink/green stock wires.

Locks are fixed ( knock on wood ). I found two wires that some body cut at one point and they were laying against the dash support and if touched it just right was grounding out causing the issue . It was part of some alarm system I'm sure. The car only has 64000 miles on it but don't know how many stereo systems were in it. They took out the factory 460 system and had at least two other stereo systems when I tore all that extra weight out , don't need it on the drag strip lol. There are so many wire taps under the dash I don't know how many alarms were in it . On to the next issue lol thanks for the help!
